Magic Tricks

This is basically the same review that I posted for Eugene under the Eugene Burger live lecture. There’s just nothing else to say that makes more sense than what I already said. So if you read the first review and you haven’t purchased this lecture yet, don’t waste time reading this again just get the lecture!!

If you know the name Eugene Burger then you know all you need to know to get this lecture. If you don’t know the name Eugene Burger then you need to get this lecture so that you will understand why he is still revered as one of the great Magicians in our modern magical world. I knew of EUGENE before I ever met him. I was impressed by what I heard and what I saw. And once I met him I was even more impressed.

When I was an actively practicing Certified Financial Planner, I would hold a client appreciation dinner each year. At that dinner I would bring in an entertainer that I wanted to meet and see perform, and they would do a client dinner one night and the next night they would do a lecture for the Dallas Magic Club. The second year of that event, Eugene Burger was the entertainment.

I sent out a lot of pre-event letters and updates and reminders and promotional items that always included information about our entertainer. This was a big deal to me and my clients and my staff. I was spending a lot of money for the entertainer and a great catered dinner and the best location I could find. I wanted a great turn out and as I recall, the actual ratio of people that walked in the door based on the invitations I sent for that event, was the highest of any of the 10+ years I held the event. My secretary kept up with all that information for me and every year she asked me if I thought we’d beat the attendance ratio that Eugene had. I always told her I hoped that would happen but doubted that it would.

Eugene had a 99% attendance ratio compared to the invitations I sent. And this was an event that had well over 150 people in attendance.

I didn’t share all that information in this review to reminisce about those days. Even though they were a lot of fun! But rather I told you about that because no one in that room had ever heard of Eugene Burger before my letter to them and yet they were so impressed with his credentials and experience they made certain to be there.

I think that speaks volumes of how good a magician he was as well as a great entertainer. The entire crowd really loved the show and gave him an instant and enthusiastic and lengthy standing ovation at the end of the show.

The next night the lecture for Dallas area magicians was extremely well attended and a big success. No one in the room had seen him perform live before, except the few magicians that were my guests the previous night. But like everyone else they were very excited to see him and were thrilled to experience the lecture.

A few years later I made the decision to attend Jeff McBride‘s master class in Las Vegas at his home. One of the main reasons was that Eugene was going to be there. Everyone at the event was a great instructor. And the time we got to spend in a relaxed environment with them was very very helpful. We had a number of big-name entertainers such as Jeff McBride, Dan Harlan, and believe it or not even Siegfried and Roy were there one afternoon. And while I enjoyed meeting and hearing all of them it was the time with Eugene that I think had the biggest and longest lasting impact on what I did as an entertainer. And that means that they all got an A+ rating but Eugene got an A++ rating.

It really doesn’t matter what’s on the lecture from someone like Eugene Burger. Anything he talks about and teaches is beneficial and well worth your time and money to get.

I gave him five stars because he delivered that in these lectures and you will be better off, as a magician, after you see them.
