This is a very good carry around trick but does require a few seconds of "private" fiddling before
and immediately after the presentation. This is shown in the sales video so there were no surprises
after purchase (kudos to Penguin for showing an uncut real presentation). Once started, you must
stay on pace or the user will perceive some funny business. Getting the ending right is absolutely
critical or you'll be busted.
Don't get me wrong, it is not hard to do, but if the user
starts talking or asks questions you may get off timing. So have your patter down word for word and
proceed at your practiced pace. I don't hand out the card at the start of the trick because I may
not get it back in time.
It does not require and app which is great, but this also means it
is limited in what it can do and may not 100% match your phone's OS look and feel. You are able to
customize some of this and get rid of the most noticeable things. As a mobile software developer by
day, magician by night and on weekends, all my friends and family are way too savvy and notice a
couple of small things that are "off". I suspect 99% of people never will and you'll be fine. The
best part is they think it's cool even if they detect it's a "trick" (and most don't).
I
wrote a custom app for myself that allows me to go at any pace and perfectly match my OS's look and
feel 100% and make it truly "dynamic" with smooth animation. Unfortunately, I don't think Apple
would ever approve this app for distribution in their App Store.
The card I received had a
ragged cut at the bottom but a little trimming with a razor had it looking great in a few seconds.
Mark, Just bought this to give my son who has worked as a software engineer. Would love to be able to share with him what you did, and he might be able to offer some kind of feedback or his own take. (He’s incredibly creative that way). If you wouldn’t mind sharing a bit, please reach out to me at lifetimemagician@gmail.com Thanks!
