Memento Mori Genesis is a worthy heir to the original by Chris Ramsey and Adrian Valenzuela. Though
there are others in the series, they do not have the same integrity as Genesis.
This
version repeats what worked well about the original Memento Mori, but evolves the effect. The
original low poly with its carefully chosen colors and geometry consists of the building blocks of
3D design. This version is the next step in the process, more colors using a wider spectrum, and
smaller shapes. We are seeing the next real evolution of the design.
This deck lacks the
sentiment of the original, which is expected as the original was a work of spontaneous genius
between two fabulous creators. This one has a vanity card in place of the message that Chris wrote
in the first deck. The lack of sentiment does not make the deck or design weaker however as this
deck still has a distinct look and a purpose. It displays well (as the original did) when you group
3 boxes together and it handles as expected for a deck of this quality.
