Make sure you have a hole punch that auto catches the punched card. Old school ones just create

Do you often encounter strangers carrying decks of cards around? It's not impossible I suppose. I mean I've had a few street magicians a bit surprised when I pull out one, but it's pretty rare. 😀
Why would you worry about your pockets being examinable? but yes. And yes, as it's impromptu it could be doable with a strangers deck under certain conditions, like them being fine with you using a hole punch on their cards!
