I've gone back and forth about writing this review. Selfishly, I didn't want to write it, because I
didn't want to contribute to people seeing this lecture. It is good... I wanted the content to
myself.
But in the end, my sense of ethics won out, and I feel that the least I can do for
Chris Randall is to write this review (even though I am still debating on deleting and not
submitting...it's that good).
If you are a street performer this is Gold. There is some
carry over from his At the Table Live lecture, but it is still so worth it. There are a few pieces
of information that he gives you that will pay for themselves in the first hour of busking (assuming
you have some experience as a street performer and can put them into action immediately). If you are
new to street performing, Chris's model is wonderful.
When people think of brilliant street
performers they think of Cellini, Gazzo, Eric Evans, Kozmo, Bobby Maverick, Jimmy Talksalot, etc. I
don't think most people think of Chris Randall. I think Chris Randall is going to explode onto that
list as one of the most innovative and effective street magicians of this generation.
This
lecture is also wonderful for stand up performers. Like Chris, I have never "gotten" the egg bag
effect. I've spoken with Denny Haney many times about it. My mentor, who was a New York city heavy
hitter in magic in the 80's and 90's, did it. Gazzo does it. I just never got it. I think Chris has
convinced me to take a second look at the egg bag (or a 10th look, more accurately), and I'm
excited.
Lots of useable standup material suitable for street, parlour, and even stage.
I'm so glad Chris released this. I am also cringing as I get ready to submit this... I really want
to tell you not to buy it, because I just want it for myself.......But you should definitely buy it
if this review describes the kind of work you do.
