I’m sure that this gimmick will work fine for many people, but not everyone as it just didn’t work
for me at all.
Note that the gimmick is 1-3/16 inches wide. This is much wider than the
watch bands I normally wear (mostly Tag Heuer and a few other mid-level luxury brands). The gimmick
is very visible and nearly impossible to conceal unless that watch band is 1-3/16 to 1-1/4 inches
wide.
The other problem is that the shape of the muscles on my palm make it nearly
impossible to perform the vanish. The base of my palm has prominent hump/curve (probably from
playing guitar for 40+ years) which causes the coin to jump over the band/gimmick. I’ve practiced
for three hours and was maybe 5 percent succesful, and that was only with a very exaggerated
movement. A 95 percent failure rate does not inspire confidence. If you have flat palms the vanish
shouldn’t be a problem, but my muscular palms just don’t provide the smooth sliding action needed.
The only aspect that worked for me was making the coin appear in my palm. However, I could
easily do the same thing with only a wide watch band (i.e. the size needed to conceal this gimmick)
so the gimmick isn’t really necessary. Unfortunately this was a waste of $25 for me. YMMV.
