Same, it took me 45 seconds to figure out how the math worked the first time I watch the trailer. It's quite obvious, especially the "turn 2 pieces over" step.
I think you need to realize this is a very different type of magic. Sure you can repeat it! Sure it’s easy to figure out… as a magician! For laymen, something like this really works. With the right presentation this would kill! When a magician watches something they’re always thinking about the method. A layman has to follow the steps and listen to the presentation with both of those things going on it’s pretty hard to follow the method.
