"The Boyd Mystery" by Bill Abbott is yet another solid performance piece from the mind of Bill Abbott. This is yet another of Abbott's illusions that I will be adding to my show. The method is very simple. In fact, the secret is most likely obvious to most seasoned magicians. But as is the case with so many illusions, it's not about the method, it's about the effect, the atmosphere the story that you bring the spectators through. The Boyd mystery has a fascinating story, and this is the big hook that got me interested to check this out. I am very pleased with Bill's instructions. As usual, he lays out all the details of the routine and even provides additional ideas to help make the effect play differently in different situations. The only thing I would want you to know is that in one part of the video, Bill shows a book that has a secret compartment in it. He talks about it being available on Amazon. This is true, but just know that the cheapest price for this book (as of this writing) is $93.00. Now, you don't have to use the book in the routine, but to me, it's something that I just couldn't pass up. It just adds that extra "something special" to the routine. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of Bill Abbott's "The Boyd Mystery". Highly recommended.
