Usually, Kyle's explanations are good, but this is terrible. Not only does he not give an
over-the-shoulder view explanation but he does it all left-handed.
I'm right-handed so
watching the video is sooooo confusing. I gave up after many attempts. You have to do so much
reversing and double reversing in your mind that the video is totally useless because you have to
pause it a billion times to get the orientation correct. And then just when you think you have it,
you don't.
For the life of me I just don't understand why these guys don't shoot these
tutorials over the shoulder because that's exactly how the viewer is viewing it. The way they do it
is a mirror image. Our brains don't automatically reverse the image so that we can follow along
easily.
This just frustrates me to death! If you're mirror-image-challenged like me, pass
this by. I wish I could figure it out because it's a good effect but I don't have triple the time or
patience to do it.
Ahhh, a right-handed person had trouble understanding a tutorial video by a left-handed video because he had to reverse images in his mind. My tiny violin is creaking under the strain.
Place a mirror a proper distance away in front of your monitor. The get behind the monitor and watch the video through the mirror. 👍
Over the shoulder view should be MANDATORY for all magic tutorials!
Enough said!
I'm pretty sure that VLC Media player has an option to playback video flipped (mirrored). It's a free app--would check it out.
Good luck!
