This looks like a really cool effect, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it to work. I've watched the tutorial video a dozen times and followed along step-by-step and it just doesn't work for me.

I would give this 5 stars if I could get it to work because it's a really visual and I love that kind of stuff.
