I first read Artful Deceptions, then I saw Allan perform two of these routines at a convention and I
became a lifelong fan.
His charm, whimsy, and sincerity comes through the screen. The
effects are workers, and not necessarily "on screen" friendly but that doesn't matter. This is
material designed for the real world, not on camera.
You get to see his timing, eye
contact, and delivery.
It is a shorter lecture, but you're getting lots of solid useful
material. Much better than other lectures that ramble about NOTHING for twice as long.
If
you do walk around card magic, this is a must. There's some smart thinking you will be able to apply
to other routines you do, and you'll definitely come away with some new effects.
