I had the privilege to meet Rick. When I got into magic in ‘99 I went to Theatricks (the shop he
worked at) and he not only showed me amazing magic but also put me on the right path. The first VHS
tape he ever sold me was Daryl’s Ambitious Card! The shop moved and when I found where it moved to
he showed me a coin in pen routine that I still do to this day. I joined the local IBM ring (ring
211) and was surprised to see him there! He was very much loved by ALL members young and old. They
called him “Mr Off the Wall”. I will never forget him.
He was my first favorite magician! My
second is David Stone and to learn that they both competed and won at the same FISM was so amazing
to me!
I also use to bring friends to the Red Robin he performed at just to watch live
magic!
I’ve always enjoyed Rick Merrill!
