This slim hardback is high both in price and in the quality of its contents. Even Penguin’s discounted price will suitably deter most of the merely curious. Although it contains some interesting biographical material that is mostly easily obtainable online, its principal value lies in the author’s practical tips on improving the perfomance of CMR and Q&A. The central characters illustrate a division in mentalism that still applies; some use all manner of trickery (worse still, deceit) and others can sometimes do it for real.
