I will admit to something right up front: I am old. I was in my early 20s when Emmerson & West came
out with Color Monte. And being old, I tend to learn most of my effects from books. This packet
trick ships only with video instructions. I actually went to eBay and found an original version of
this trick with the written instructions and ordered it.
It might not be so bad if the video
instructions were decent. But these are filmed from the SPECTATOR'S point of view only. And as
someone with Asperger's Syndrome, reversing everything in my head is darn near impossible for me. TO
make things worse (or laughable), the person doing the instructions actually flashes one of the
gimmicked cards during his demo.
Seriously, Penguin. How much would it add to the cost of the
effect to included a set of printed instructions with this packet trick?
Despite the video's good production value, I had the same problem with it, as the view from a spectator's perspective is more confusing than helpful. But you can make it much better by rotating the video in your player via video settings. You will be pleasantly surprised by the result. This is a great effect and is worth the effort.
