Amazing variety and the fact that the tricks taught are very strong yet practical for real life
performance are just two of the things that make Jacks lecture my favorite Penguin Live I've ever
seen.
Some highlights for me included "Premonition"- a crazy strong book test perfect for
stage or parlor. This trick involves several audience members and very fair choices.
"Printing 99.0" is a visually stunning card trick filled with surprise magical moments; because
this is so incredibly creative I will break my "no more card tricks" goal.
"Printing
99.0" does bring up an aspect of this lecture in that there is a bit crafting that is necessary to
create several of the routines. Nearly all can be accomplished with items from an office supply
store; but, what I want to emphasize is the attention to detail (down to the product numbers) that
Jack goes into. It's so refreshing to hear a detailed explanation instead of just "you have cards
printed" or "you make cards with this on it"
"Daytona Coins" has so many magic moments it
may become my new parlor opener. Again a bit of crafting but everything is easy to make and there is
a detailed explanation of what and where to buy the tiny inexpensive items required..
Jacks "Nervous Jolt" is another standout. Honestly one of the most magical moments you can
create for a volunteer and it happens in their hand. You will do this all the time!
"Zombie" is an excellent lesson on how to revive a classic and make it totally new- and
customized!
I can't possibly write up all of the wonderful tricks. All I can say is I would
be surprised if everyone watching this doesn't walk away with multiple things they want to get to
work on right now -oh and on that note, very little technical skill is required to accomplish these
effects. Practice is of course needed to to get the best flow but no crazy sleights are involved.
