The standard SvenPads are great. They are fire-and-forget, self-working and bulletproof.
This "version" of the SvenPad concept, however is none of these things. It is very convoluted
(so much so that the "participants" often can't remember enough about what they've seen to be amazed
by the context of it all). It is difficult to do (lots of memorization and sequencing and patter to
justify it all) and leaves questions in the "participant's" mind(s) – e.g., "Why the lower left
corner?" (the trick is supposed to be repeatable for the same participants). And while this can
involve two participants (at least in the third phase), it doesn't work well as a Stage act, nor as
a walk-around.
In spite of the advertised rationale for all this, the Ultimate Edition
appears pointed at fooling other magicians who probably know how a standard SvenPad works, rather
than providing a bigger "Wow" than the standard to a naive audience (it's a longer routine, but
there's insufficient increase in the "Wow" to justify it).
Add to this, that it's
expensive. I get better reactions (at a better price) passing out multiple standard SvenPads (with
differing outcomes) to multiple participants in the same show at the same time.
My opinion.
