This is a fun and clever idea. The fact that these flossing tools are so common really helps
disguise the method and sell the illusion. People have a preconceived idea about how these things
should be constructed and I'll admit that I had no idea how this trick could work before getting the
gimmicks.
The teaching is a bit unconventional; The creator is demonstrating the method to
someone at a convention (the same setting seen in the demo video). I didn't mind this because,
really, the gimmick does all the work. What you see him doing in the demo is pretty much what you
do. He does discuss some covering moves and handling suggestions but the method is pretty
straightforward.
The gimmicks are treated with some sort of material which give them
different properties than normal flossers. They pass muster when handed out briefly but, like the
real thing, are small and delicate. This leads to my only real concern. I've had people treat them
pretty roughly when trying to replicate the linking and, when it happened, I cringed inside. My
suggestion: Allow the spec to handle them exactly as shown in the demo and no more.
If
there are durability issues, I'll update this review. Until then, I'm very happy with this cool
little EDC.
