The slates themselves are well made. The flap, not so much. Overall I was disappointed with the product. The instructional video was the worst instructional video I have ever seen. It did teach you how to get the annoying cover off of the slate, but it offered nothing new or original from a magical standpoint.

I agree with your comments. The slate does work properly about 80% of the time when handled properly ("roughly"). I still haven't figured out what writing material to use on it's surface without leaving a permanent mark. Any suggestions?

I FINALLY got it - you DON'T write on the surface. All you can do is make flat items appear with it. Tutorial is useless.
