Its a cool effect while the thread is intact. Great reactions. But with great reactions comes
constant maintenance.
It's fragile with the thread, so you'll be having to put it away
often and re-spooling with care when you can get somewhere to focus on just that. (It's a cumbersome
process).
If you follows the directions it will not break the thread. I have had it for 2 months and use it almost 4 times a week and it has only had to be fixed once, and that was due to me not handling the deck retraction correctly. If not for that I would not have had to repair it yet. Just follow the directions on hand position at all points of the effect.
I love the effect. But I too am constantly rethreading it, adjusting the spool. All in all the reaction I get from spectators is worth the maintenance.
