I bought this from magic shop San Diego, but always read penguin reviews, so here goes..
I
understand the low reviews. I was pretty disappointed when I first gave this a go. The gimmick I
received wasn’t perfect, and when “engaged,” you could see quite a big sliver of red on a supposed
blue card. This had me rebending the card, outside of the factory creases and it basically ruined
the gimmick.
So I tossed it aside.
Then I had an hour on my hands to try and
rebuild the gimmick from scratch. In the past, I had fixed a countless amount of elastic thread
gimmicks, and had become efficient in splitting cards thanks to Blake Vogt’s split sessions, so
rebuild is what I did.
Using Jon Allen’s Perfect Score, the gimmick I made is absolute
quality. And now this is one of my favorite visual tricks to perform. It’s quick and astonishing.
It’s hopping halves but with cards. When that card changes from blue to red right in front of their
eyes, you get promo quality reactions.
I love visual magic, and I love this trick. If you
have it in you to build a better gimmick, you’ll love this too.
