I agree with Grant Hutchinson's review from 2021 and will add a few points. If you have a high
quality sh***, that rides low to the mat, that will make doing the effect more difficult. So when
people say it is easy, it isn't that easy and will take some practice to make it work consistently.
Not weeks, but maybe a few days.
Second, you really do need a soft mat for this. So don't
thin you can do this impromptu at dinner at the dinner room table. You have to be able to press the
mirror into the mat do do the sleight required, so this is only for a situation where you can use a
mat.
Lastly, angles. The audience needs to be in front of you. If you have a table with
audience members sitting to your right or left, you are likely going to be exposing part of the
effect to those to people. Note they will probably still be confused about where the extra coins
are coming from, but it won't be magical to them, just confusing.
So overall a nice trick
for the right environment, and certainly a great effect for a Zoom show where you can control the
angles. .
