I frequently perform routines involving ESP cards or symbols. “Sequence” has become a valuable
companion to those routines. Whenever a spectator starts to suspect some gimmick is used and/or is
skating too close to the method I’m using for my other routines, I take out the “Sequence” cards. I
mention that it’s a matter of psychological odds. I then say that I mentioned say, the square twice,
a circle once, a plus once and the wavy lines once to have them come to their choice. I tell them
it’s a matter of learning what order to mention the shapes in, and the number to put the odds in my
favor of them selecting the one I want. I let them know that the odds are high, but not 100%, so
it’s still a gamble or I state I still have to rely on my ‘read’ of their energy or body language. I
can then take them through the routine to any degree I desire or that suits the need. It becomes a
point of interest and takes heat completely off of methods being used in the previous routine. It’s
not just a cool trick…it’s a helpful tool. Easy to perform. There is some math involved, (if you
know how math is applied to ESP symbols, you may well determine the method for “Sequence” before it
arrives, as I did. That in no way detracts from this trick.); but the math is not at all difficult.
In fact, it becomes so simple that it’s an instantaneous thing - easy to do, particularly with some
minor audience management. I believe the cards are made of a PVC/plastic material, so they will last
you quite a while. As with all things put out by The 1914, this is a quality item.
