I really like packet tricks, and am especially fond of those of Gordon Bean, Larry Jennings, John
Bannon and Max Maven. I really like this and while I ordered it (but not yet received it), I can
tell from the instructional video that I will. This trick will REQUIRE handling and practice to
make sure you're very familiar and comfortable with it. You don't want to "fiddle" with it or seem
to be unfamiliar with it, but rather to take your time and be "smooth" and "fluid" with both the
handling and patter.... Once comfortable with both this WILL be a killer trick. I enjoy
performing in karaoke bars so YES I've usually consumed a few alcohol drinks and thus... my
consumption might cloud my remembrance of the steps.
With that said, it is a GREAT trick
with NO difficult moves, but I'm not sure "yet" if I'll be performing it as I like tricks that play
out very QUICKLY and without much "patter", but when its received I'll practice and I might use
it.... that just remains to be seen. Either way, it WONT go in the "junk drawer".
I think it’s fair to say that no trick really exists that doesn’t require practice. Some tricks require lots of practice, but this trick isn’t one of them. I got the impression from the first few sentences of your review that you’re warning of a lot of difficulty. I disagree. This trick is one of the easiest I’ve ever had in terms of practice and performance. The practice required is minimal. It doesn’t take long at all to get comfortable. I’m glad you changed course a bit and mentioned no difficult moves. The only real move is super easy and natural. I have great difficulty with sleight of hand, and the move required in this trick doesn’t even come close. I’m not sure what you mean by “tricks that play out very quickly”. The routine that leads up to the climax isn’t at all lengthy or drawn out. The patter, in my opinion, is reasonable and not excessive at all. In fact, the trick would be less effective without the patter. As for “fiddling” with it, I don’t even see where fiddling would be possible. The “Move”? Already addressed that. Fiddling would be at worst a remote possibility.
