I own a lot of magic. Probably too much if you ask my wife. The reason I buy and create new magic is
the elusive chase of “that feeling.” If you love magic, you know the exact feeling that I’m
referring to. It’s somewhere between wonder and awe, and magic with light seems to be especially
primed to evoke this feeling in me. But magic with light is often wildly impractical. Not this. This
little device is single-handedly the most wondrous prop I’ve ever owned. The contest isn’t even
close. Not only does this trick utilize the natural wonder of light, but it’s a perfect prop to
evoke childhood memories of planetarium projectors casting hazy stars onto bedroom ceilings. If the
inventor/manufacturer ever decides to produce more cards with different reveals, I would buy an
entire deck. When something gives me chills, that’s my indication that I’m experiencing something
profound. I don’t experience “chills-level” magic very often, but even the premise of this trick
gives me goosebumps. Everything about Planetarium is peak wonder.
