The dice cup is a good size: 3" outer diameter, 2 11/16 inner diameter, 3 3/4" tall. The 4 red dice
with white pips are a good size for the cup, cube sides are 7/8"(with rounded corners). The
stitching is even and the cup is well-constructed. It looks like they made this cup with care. The
cup comes with a similarly manufactured (and loosely fitting) lid that overhangs the cup lip-- it's
about 7/8" tall and 3 5/8" outer diameter. This is a solid cup-- it had just a tiny bit of give when
I tried to squeeze it firmly. The synthetic leather on both sides and bottom allowed for a
comfortable and secure grip.
How well did the gimmick work? I was pleased with the match
between gimmicked die and cup: the die stayed secure with normal placement, appeared with what force
I would expect to exert, and didn't require excessive energy. I think they got the balance right for
my set.
Now for the downer... Yes, there is a downloadable video for instruction-- all of 1
minute 27 seconds. Forty five seconds was unboxing and showing the product (which also includes a
plastic carrying bag and a gimmick to make other items (e.g., wadded dollar bill, cotton ball. small
plastic toy) work with the cup. The instruction that lasted less than 45 seconds had no voice
guidance and included one basic sleight to use with the cup for an effect of the dice, one at a
time, passing throught the base of the downturned cup. That's it!
In summary, this is a
well-produced, attractive cup and dice set that work well together (with additional lid, carrying
bag, and extra gimmick). Ignore the video instruction and go get some quality guidance from some of
the excellent videos and books already out there. I think this cup and dice set add nicely to the
visual and auditory display when performing.
