Every time I watch one of these, I have to remind myself that he is not selling a trick; he is
teaching a method. As per design, he gets us thinking of presentational ideas. I love this day every
month. So much fun, good stuff
How difficult is this awesome impossible trick? I'm an intermediate hobbyist that is proficient in most of the standard sleights
you should have no problem with a little practice there are no difficult sleights or maneuvers necessary just a little bit of crowd control and not even much of that it's really a phenomenal trick but like the OP said it's not even the trick it's the methods that dani teaches he's really just the best ever and such a joy to learn from.
even if you are just a casual fan of magic it's addicting to watch his lectures and courses I've found myself buying every single one and enjoying every single lesson immensely and I'm nothing more than a fan I have no plans to perform these aside from maybe for family once in awhile.
you can learn great methods and techniques from lots of people but I have yet to find anyone who makes it so enjoyable to learn from, dani is truly the GOAT.
Most of Dani's tricks, including this one, seem to involve more than one spectator choosing cards (for example). Is that always necessary?
@paulwilmott - Not entirely sure what you're asking.
From a general standpoint: Involving more than one spectator is one of the things Dani likes to do, and he does it very well. Most (maybe all) of the tricks in the Force Project have you doing the same.
From the standpoint of this trick: Yes, you will need two spectators. You cannot, for example, have one spectator choose 2 cards.
Hope that helps!
@paulwilmott - for this specific trick and the method he is teaching it is absolutely necessary to have more than one spectator. The miracle of the trick depends on there being two spectators.
As for the earlier question about difficulty, there is no sleight of hand difficulty. There is however audience management difficulty. Some of the actual audience management you would have to deal with in the real world never shows up in the demo because Dani is demonstrating to magicians and they know how to follow his instructions. They aren't difficult, but I am not always convinced that if you were to say the same thing to a lay person, they would do what you wanted. So that is the hard part and if they don't do what you want, then you have to be able to course correct.
