Here’s the thing; if you like what you see in the promo, you won’t be disappointed with the method.
It’s actually some very clever thinking. I suspect many of you have the same issues I have though.
First and foremost, this is pricey. Even if you like the effect, if you’re looking to spend $165 on
magic, there are in my opinion, better uses of your money (let’s face it $165 can go a long way on
this site). Considering there are no other reviews and I saw this on the Open Box for just $35, I
suspect most out there feel the same way regarding the price.
Second issue is the effect
itself. Catching a signed foam dart in your hands just doesn’t seem all that magical to me. Even at
the huge discount I didn’t see myself ever performing this in the manner demonstrated. I was hoping
I’d be able to routine this to catch the dart in my mouth and while I have a pretty good method that
I could use to load the dart to my mouth, I’m not sure how practical or convincing it would look.
Julio seems like a nice guy and is clearly very creative so even though this one misses the mark for
me, I hope to see more from him in the future. I’d give this 2.5 stars if that was an option but
since I have to choose between 2 or 3 stars, I’ll say 3 since the method is clever and the trailer
depicts a pretty accurate portrayal of the effect you’d be buying. And if you like that trailer,
you’ll like what you get.
