Magic Tricks

When I first saw this and learned that you got a single piece of aluminum foil for $30, I didn't know what to make of it. I watched the video, and I couldn't figure out how the gimmick worked. And I couldn't find any reviews. But having bought a lot of excellent stuff in the past from Vernet, I took the plunge. Wow! When I saw how it was constructed, I chuckled. It's brilliant. Really brilliant and portable. You can put it in any wallet, purse, or pocket and do a design duplication whenever you want. And you can flash both sides of the gimmick, without fear of exposure, before and after you've gotten the peek. (Think Jaks wallet but even more deceptive.)

But the big questions are whether we need another peek device, and is it worth the seemingly high price. The answer to the first question is up to you. Even though I have a huge collection of peek wallets, envelopes, and other gimmicks, not to mention I can get a peek using sleights, I'm going to use this. And if you're wondering how weird it is to pull out a sheet of aluminum foil, I think the "test condition" patter works. As for the price, the gimmick looks like it was a b**** to make by hand. I haven't used it much yet, but it looks durable.

In summary, this is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while and typical of the excellent thinking at Vernet. Whether you want or need another way to get a peek is up to you.
