Dixie Dooley has done a great job with this set of DVDs. He takes you through the intricacies of some the more famous stage escapes out there showing you in detail and slowly how to best accomplish each. This is not a "Let's discuss my thinking on this subject" kind of stuff, but practical information you will use. Dixie takes his time and even gives you a few ways to create your own version of the effects he uses.
