This is the fourth installment of Roberto Giobbi's Card College, and it is amazing! As with all his
books, everything is VERY clearly explained in writing, with pictures so clear, it's even possible
to learn the techniques just from seeing the pictures alone. In addition to just describing the
techniques, he also writes about the psychology and timing behind each move, how to make the move
work and why it does.
Some of the topics covered are card/packet/deck switches (in 3
seperate chapters, forces, estimation, sandwich techniques, about 10 different passes (including
half passes), and the tilt. There are more, but these are the things deserving the most mention.
There are many great tricks in the book, but in my opinion that isn't what the book is
about. They are good tricks, and although I don't use many of them myself, it complements the
teaching of the sleights well, showing how they apply to tricks.
One last thing that must
be mentioned: The last chapter in this book is an essay on theory. Very good stuff.
So in
conclusion, if you perform card magic BUY IT!
