I'll have to admit, this is the only book I've read cover to cover that is targeted towards complete
laymen and is widely available at any bookstore. Given that, I think this is an excellent beginner
book. Even with 3 years under my belt, I got something new out of this book. It provides a solid
foundation in many different areas of magic (since I'm a card guy, I definitely learned a thing or
two about stage magic) and I love how it also goes into some depth about the history of magic and
the major magicians of the past. I've taken a glance at other beginner laymen magic books, and this
is definitely the best one. If you know someone who is interested in magic, this is THE book to get
them.
