I've always had a little problem with Joshua Jay's tricks. I don't like how poker themed they
generally are, because these usually require some kind of setup or intricate stack. I don't want to
reveal anything but this requires a little setup but I'm still not a fan.
The effect is really
cool and it demonstrates a TON of great subtle ideas. It's cool, but not really my thing. And it's
presented in a lecture type venue. But I liked that sort of. The performance is extended a little
bit and it looks better in the actual demo.
The teaching left something to be desired. He talked
a lot more than he actually showed. I like how he teaches though. It's really comfortable and
relaxed. He doesn't studder or anything. But I wish he actually showed this a little more and taught
some more things in it.
Overall, I don't really suggest buying this unless you have a lot under
your belt and can learn from almost anything. It's a nice show piece for close up and sets you up
for some cool different things you can do afterwards. Plus it's a cool opener. But I didn't like it
as much.
