This isn't a bad effect at all. When it first came out, I thought it was very good, and I would've recommended it without hesitation. The problem is, there have been improvements and new effects introduced that make this one moot, in my opinion. Specifically, Trilogy Streamlined and Cataclysm are both effects with a similar theme that I feel are far more effective.

The main shortcoming with this one, as compared to these later effects, is that the plot can get a little convoluted and hard for the spectator to follow. I'm not saying you need to be a rocket scientist to understand it, but the other effects are far more direct and (as the one title says) streamlined... yet they play just as well and get reactions at least as good, if not better.

My philosophy is to keep things as simple as possible, and when it comes to this sort of effect, this one doesn't do that nearly as well as the alternatives.
