ONe thing you might know about Paul Harris, is that he likes to reprint a lot of his stuff. IN the
art of astonishment series, those are essentially just his old books, like this one. So if you were
thinking about getting both of these, you might as well go for those.
In this book, Paul
explains a variety of different close up effects. Some use cards, some use coins. Mostly using
cards. There are even a few random effects. For example, earth shoes uses your shoe and a rock.
Random enough for you? It's a great effect though. There is a cool trick in here that's really
gutsy, but fun to perform. I think if you are an experienced close up Magician, these will be really
good for you. There is a wide margin of effects presented here.
So if you are looking for
a really cheap book that you can read in a day, go for this. It's my favorite Paul Harris product
because of how cool the tricks are. They are practical, solid ideas that can be performed in just
days of practice. 5/5 (oh, one problem is for almost all of these, you need 2 hands to practice so
turning pages and keeping it open is KILLER)
