I really wanted to like this DVD. I love the idea of doing magic with razor blades. It's
dangerous, it's edgy (pun intended) and I think it can get some great reactions if the magic is
performed correctly.
In the explanations on this DVD I felt that both Byrd & Coats come
across in a condesending way. They repeat themselves tirelessly...the things they say are all to do
with safety (important stuff), but the repetition made the video very difficult to watch.
The effects were...ok. Some of them. I did really enjoy death by chocolate (I thought that had
some really clever ideas to it)...The bitten and restored razor blade also has some potential. One
effect I was terribly dissappointed with was bloody mary monte...the potential for a great effect is
there...but the way it's performed & handled in this video leaves a lot to be desired. They take an
effect which could be devastating and reduce it to a dissappearing razor blade. (Boring!)
If you're looking for ideas...there are some good ideas in this video...but if you're looking
for specific routines that you can put in your act tomorrow, look elsewhere.
