What is this piece of garbage?

I had read several favorable reviews of this item and I wanted to be able to do something like this.

The supposed "crack" is not anywhere near as loud as I had envisioned. I can actually crack my own knuckles and make as much noise.

Even worse, after trying it a couple of times it started to tear.

This went straight into my junk drawer.
