This looks like a cool one to do. It's very easy. I just don't like the possibility of audience
wanting to touch the block. They can't. Yes, you can manage your audience with this, but all in all,
they want to see and hold the block. This is not magician thinking. They WILL want to see and hold
it! And they 100% can not. You have to make sure you perform it correctly (practice by all means) so
you don't reveal the trick. I know; that is most of the tricks we do.
Be careful if you toss
this one to the other hand for show. Might not work out to well.
As for the DVD. I was
highly disappointed. This is NOT his best by all means. Looks like it took an hour to shoot this.
The video shown here, is NOT the same quality you get! A BIG downer. The clips of him performing it
are NOT all on the DVD! One is, and it is obviously a set-up staged presentation.
It's
def. quick and to the point. Some may like that. But David is far better than this DVD. He could
have (and should have) done so much more on the explanation. For the bonus effect, he doesn't even
demonstrate it.
And I hate how the trailer says Uncut. That is not true. There are
several edits (Bad ones at that). I have been doing video production for over 20 years.. So I am a
little picky. But for the $$$, and the fact that David is an AWESOME magician; it bothers me that it
wasnt edit to the high standard I expect. And the audio on the explanation is not professional at
all. Obviously the camera mic, as opposed to using a wired mic. Another pet peeve of mine.
Thi
shad so much more potential. I cant explain that w/o giving the method away.
