When I ordered this, I thought I was purchasing something similar to a very cheap plastic effect I
have. I had in mind to to a little routine with a coin with a hole in it and a solid coin with a
sticker of a "hole" (rather than the solid sticker that comes with the effect) for something fun
where the spectator expects the coin to have a hole in it. I would have them inspect the coin with
the hole in it and switch it for the solid coin with the sticker of a hole. The solid coin goes
into the device, and I would remove the coin from the device and show that there never really was
any hole at all.
I thought I knew the principle behind the effect, but I was pleasantly
surprised to find that the effect is quite a bit more elaborate that what I thought, and also much
more powerful than I thought. The spectator can inspect the device and the coin and they will not
be able to reproduce the effect. This lends itself very well to just a stand-alone effect, or to be
used in combination with any other coin routine using quarters or even a routine with a coin with a
hole. Penguin has a DVD called "Charming Chinese Challenge". This would be a great routine in
conjunction with this trick. Just drill or have someone drill holes into three quarters for you and
use quarters with holes in them instead of chinese coins. This is a very good device and I highly
recommend it.
