The prop or gimmick is a $5 item. The DVD content is not worth the difference.
It's
essentially one effect with a few variations. I found the dvd valuable for its ditches, false
transfers, etc (I lost some of these moves in my shotty magic education), but I'm not sure why this
effect is marked so high.
Save your money and just do one of the many old effects which
leave the spectator feeling like you've done the exact same thing as Wilson has done here.
You could spend half the money on quadruple the valuable content on this site.
Will I
perform this trick? Probably. I do like the effect. I just don't know if anyone will feel like
this is worth $75.
Once, after getting mugged in Manhattan (3 card monte gone bad), I
found myself with only an Invisible deck in my pocket. I performed it for someone and asked him if
he'd pay $20 to learn how to do that. He did. It paid my way home. I don't know if he would have
paid $20 to learn this. Would you?
I really don't understand why so many people bring up the prices as being way too high on just about every effect where there are,.. I'd say about 3 or more reviews,.. you'll always have someone stating that the effect was overpriced! Which btw, says absolutely nothing about the effect, it's quality, it's impact it has on the spectators, it's content,.. it's always someone like this who simply whines about it costing too much!
People need to keep in mind, that you aren't paying for the contents that you receive in the package. There's SO MUCH MORE that goes into creating, testing, scripting, releasing, marketing, etc,.. and it goes on and on and on...
That is what we pay for, we as buyers, are blessed with the ease of simply seeing a finished product online or in the shop (those that still exist) and buying it, taking it home, and not having to do anything else aside from learning it, practicing and hopefully mastering it so that we can at the very least,.. do it justice when we decide to take it out there and try it on our own! and we when buy someone's creation that they graciously allowed the rest of us permission to perform, which is why we pay them, to validate their hard work being the creative minds behind the magic that we simply buy and perform, if you had thought of it, and created a way to reach the same means,.. you wouldn't spend your money on other people's creations.
Also, you are fully aware going in, that what you are buying accomplishes (said effect, insert here). And you still paid, Why complain now?? The gimmick is a very good and easy way to accomplish this effect! It's durable and reliable, and is made to last for longer than your lifetime.. I for one, have purchased 2 gimmicks prior to this one, which were made to accomplish the exact same effect,.. and they both costed $99.99,.. $25.00 more than this one, and I couldn't use them at all,.. not even once, they first one was a piece of crap that was too cumbersome and complicated, the next one, broke into pieces because it was made with cheap parts. I've had this thing in my pocket just about daily, for years, and it still works just as well as the day I got it,.. I've performed it thousands of times now, and it is great! Well worth the money spent. Also it's fairly small and does't take up too much pocket space, another feature that makes this thing the best of it's kind in my humble opinion, and Greg definitely put a ton of thought and likely years of trial and error before releasing it.
I LOVE IT! You probably never even tried to use it, or anything else like it before. That's likely the reason why you are so quick to comment on price, and nothing important, or god forbid, helpful to any of us,..
I really wouldn't be bothered if your complaint on price was due to poor quality, but it wasn't, it was simply you complaining to us about how YOU purchased something that you clearly knew about what it was for and yet you simply complain about the price! Next time, why not try simply not buying what you feel is overpriced?!?!!?!.
The person who originally wrote this comment is simply mistaken,.. perform this correctly and under a good premise and it'll have people freaking out. I use it as an opener to a short, quick 3-4 trick routine using regular pocket change, and this is what I use to introduce pocket change into the audiences center of attention. After years of performance and refinement, this is always a great way to prepare people for what's about to happen and even though you have something on you that helps this work out, the spectators don't know this, they believe, that you simply pulled some change out of your pocket, and it prepares them for magic or it can stand alone, but it does so without that awkward moment or look that every magician gets whenever we dare pull a deck of cards or some strange coins or worse, sponge balls, a hankerchief, etc,..
without warming people up to us first, is just BRUTAL!!
EXACT CHANGE, at least for me, has always been a great "go-to" when someone asks me to "Do some magic"...
Totally disagree that this is way overpriced. The routines (of which there are more than I can even remember on the instructional DVD) are top notch. The ditch methods, different ideas etc. alone are well worth it here. Plus, the gimmick isn't something you can just simply go out and "make" on your own very easily IF at all really. If the money is too much for you, don't spend it. Gregory Wilson has never in my opinion fell short on something he sells. I agree, it's one of those things you can literally carry with you at all times without taking up hardly any space and boom you have something to blow someones mind instead of a packet trick etc. Five stars from me on this one.
