I buy from Penguin Magic because they usually always give me good quality for the money. I seldom
buy tricks that don't have reviews because oftentimes I get burned by the misleading descriptions. I
took a chance with the Omni-Pad Power Pack, and I got burned in a huge way.
First of all,
the price for what you get is absolutely pathetic. All totaled, you could create this effect for
less than five dollars. You get both notebooks, two pens, the "gimmicks", and a piece of paper
telling you where to go online to learn how to use the effect. That's right, there's absolutely
nothing in here explaining the effect. Not a DVD, cd, or even badly photocopied stapled manual.
Instead, it tells you where to go online to print your own stupid materials. Apparently the cost of
paper was far too high and the profit margin too tight to make the effort.
And the
"gimmicks"? Well, contrary to what the description says, they cannot be refilled. Once it runs out,
it's out. You can possibly move the gimmicks to new notebooks though. And if you own Mark Mason's
"Word in a Million", you have absolutely no reason to buy this as you can just adapt that effect to
do the same thing as this one.
All in all, I can't tell you how disappointed I am not only
in my purchase but in Penguin Magic for putting such an overpriced rip-off on their website. I will
definitely stop buying effects on here that don't have reviews so I don't get burned like this
again. If the price on this is lowered to twenty dollars or less, you might pick it up. At this
current price, save your money.
