I say "not your conventional coin trick", because you're using an alternative item forming the premise of a coin. This is an effect on it's own where you would conveniently have a tin with the "coins" to perform the effect. Although there is preparation work involved in making the gimmick for each performance, you can carry it around quite practically, perform the effect as shown in the demo, ending relatively clean.

I prefer to hand the spectator a coin, as I grab a "coin" of my own, and pretend to teach them how to vanish the coin as shown in the demo. Then, after the original squish vanish, ditch the gimmick as you go to fish for another "coin" in your tin and proceed to apparently swallow a 2nd coin.

This is not an original effect. David Copperfield and I experimented with this using my foil coins way back in 1987. Also my book Disposable coins published in 1987 for the New York Magic Symposium. Here is a historical link to my work. http://www.conjuringcredits.com/doku.php?id=coin%3Afoil_coin
