If you're looking for a great effect, you'll get it...IF you have the "right" CD player. If not, be
prepared to work at making one right. The original model used by Will seems to have magically
disappeared, making this "kit" worthless unless a suitable replacement is found. This should have
been made clear, as the original CD player model seems to have been discontinued before the release
of this kit.
In fairness, the kit includes a special something that can be customized, but
care and precision is required, along with a suitable player that can accommodate the work. Unless
that is acceptable to you, be prepared to attend a lot of yard sales.
No no no no! Almost EVERY boom box can work with this! I do not see why this is a bad product! Unless you are just lazy, I had created mine using the customizable gimmick and it works just fine! The only reason for your bad review was because you need WORK done to create this, and you just can't do the work!
There is no need to be insulting, kisela. The type of player needed is very fast becoming VERY few and far between.
I put in the work to tend to my own kit I'd obtained, but it was after *exhaustive* searching and experimenting to find something that works properly. This was not a facet of laziness, and was extremely frustrating.
Mind your tone, and please have some respect.
Yes, the right CD player is necessary or this simply does not work. I recently did this effect and people were blown away. The CD player I found to work well was called GPX CD/Radio Boombox by Digital Products International (www.gpx.com) which I found at Walmart for under $40.00. Hope that helps. Also, the way to know if it will work for this effect or not is to take 5 CD's taped or secured together, bring them into the store, and see if the top lid will close with them loaded. You need that much clearance. Some machines have it and some do not. Hope that helps. Good luck.
