Well thought out, and the work put into it was notable. I thought the homosexual innuendo during the
instructional was not needed for the trick to be introduced. My child was the one watching that and
now I have to be weary of him learning magic tricks on Penguin magic and watch it first which he's
not crazy about. I think sticking to the subject matter and making it cut and dry, the way it's been
done for hundred of years is fine. We don't need to tell kids that they can impress boys or girls,
whatever they are into, and then make jokes about them playing with their balls in order to tell
them how a trick works. I admire the work that went into the effect. Be weird and creepy on your on
time.
And I think that the cristianity in your review was not needed either.Moms don't belong on the Internet.
This review is disgusting and unnecessary. Obviously you don't care about magic for if you did you'd be critiquing the trick and not the person teaching the trick. If you've watch any magic DVD recently you'd see that in addition to teaching the trick the joke around and goof have to keep the viewer entertained. So instead of bringing your personal views on people into the review of a trick how about you actually review the trick to try and help improve the art of magic instead of just attacking someone for having fun doing what they love.
So he's not allowed to have an opinion? He doesn't want his son watching anything with crude humor, what's the harm in that? The whole point in reviews is for the fine folks at Penguin to determine to best way possible to create and market their material to ALL of their customers.

Stay away from Mr. Smith. God cares very much, he created us in his own image and gave us dominion over our bodies, and this is what people do with them. He cares every time someone does something against his will because this is what separates us from him forever. And he saw that with all that he had given to us we just looked the other way and did exactly what he said not to do. That’s what we did. And he cares enough to give up what he values the most, his son, to suffer and die so that we can live eternally.
And if you don’t believe that God exists then I have this to say. Look around you. See this world and everything in it. See your own body and how it is still alive. Wonder and think for on second that you are actually alive, breathing, living. God left us these signs to show his true colors. It is nearly impossible for this to have happened by chance. Imagine having one card signed and put into a collection on 1,000 decks of cards and then pulling out one card and that being the signed card. That is the probability that this world came up by chance. If that is so, then why are we alive, why do we have morals, why do we have a higher intellect that animals. It’s through God’s design. And if you are willing to ignore that, then the sad reality is that you might have a nice time on earth, sinning left and right, but a day will come when you will stand before your maker and have to explain why you didn’t listen and then your off the eternal punishment.

We're all of different religions and some of us are of no religion. We have different views. It's a contentious subject prone to causing conflict. For example, I reject the God who slaughtered his way through the old testament, enabling the incestuous (Lot), liar (G.O.E.),then sending his minions out to instruct us in righteousness.
But that's just me, and this isn't the venue for it.
The original poster has a right to express what they found useful or not useful about the product. There are a lot of folks who feel similarly, and I feel that the original posters comments will be useful to those people.
So thankyou to the OPer for sharing your insights.
