I watched this lecture with two friends. I hate to say this but we felt that it was among the worst
Penguin lectures that we had seen.
Lovell is one of those magicians who is very heavy on
patter. Unfortunately, it's cringe-worthy hacky joke patter. An audience can only endure so many bad
lines and respond with polite fake laughter until it eventually becomes exhausting. I realize that
there's an audience for this mix of magic and "humor" but man, if that's not you, it's painful.
There wasn't anything in the lecture that I'll use. I was interested to see the pass that he
created but his explanation and the camera work left a lot to be desired. I won't be using it.
Penguin has lots of incredible lectures. This isn't one of them. Pick another one at random and
you'll be much happier than if you spent money on this one.
