The beauty of this comes with the proper handling. You must work up good patter to give the key's story meaning and context. Ir the key is not modern looking then describe it as an ancient relic with amazing powers, such as being able to unlock locks of a different size because of it's magical powers, etc. I have devised my own handling which makes the act of handing the key out seamless and I drop it into the spectators hand for examination.
