Magic Tricks

Bought this to demonstrate electromagnetic theory for my high school and home school physics students. It is a wonderful illusion. Totally baffled them, and got them THINKING! Now, I know I violated the rules because I TOLD them it was an illusion...and made them do research to figure out just how it could possibly work. Engendered a GREAT discussion, much debate, they tried real hard to make it an air pressure reaction, even though we were discussion electricity and magnetism...he he he...they now are madly digging through their text, the Net, etc. to try to figure out just how it works. The best part, they are totally excited about "Figuring it out". Excellent teaching tool. It has my wife totally baffled, too. She thinks her husband is simply "magical". So it is good all round! Kudos
and thanks for bringing this to my attention. Now I want to develop a whole routine for my HS students. You guys ROCK!
