Some absolutely brilliant stuff on here. He starts off showing some of his classic effects marketed
on his other dvds. These are very advanced coin routines and are brilliant, but not taught on this
video, so don't worry.
Here's a brief review:
COIN STUFF -
HANG LOOSE
COINS
An easy version of hanging coins, but isn't the most fooling. It has an entertaining
presentation and he says himself it is more of an interlude between other tricks.
REACH
Brilliant - definitely something I will use and will be something the spectator will always
remember.
XSPELL
Fantastic finale to a triple spellbound. I also took some of the moves
from his routine to put in some of my own. There are some really useful moves to master in this but
to get the routine down smooth itself will be a challenge.
QUARTERMASTER
3 coins
penetrate a spectator's hand, then 5 at once.
It doesn't get much better than this really -
that's four moments of magic in their hands, which could be 4 different spectators. Incredibly
commercial.
3 FLY
I've learnt a version already and don't fancy learning his as well.
However, he gives great thinking as to how to present it for maximum effect. If you already do a
3-fly, this will elevate yours to the next level!
CARD STUFF
KAMNIBAL CARDS
Brilliant routine with a very nice bit of visual magic right at the start.
SPOT
Can't remember the full name, but this involves a sea shell named spot and is the most
entertaining card trick I've ever seen - it had me in stitches! I highly recommend this and it is
also very easy.
SHRINKING CARD
The entire deck shrinks, and their selected card is
pulled out really shrunk! Then the rest of the deck is restored to size and it can be followed by a
series of size changes for the card.
Dan Harlan said this was the most commercial card routine
he'd ever seen. It is fantastic and such an unexpected plot for spectators.
OVERALL
Curtis gave a lot of great tips on performing for both amateurs and professionals too. His
thoughts on the two performing conditions was particularly interesting.
There is so much
workable material in this lecture - I will be adding lots to my repertoire, and even those that I
won't, I will be taking moves from within and taking inspiration.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
