Points i enjoyed or learned somthing new from this lecture :
How to dress as a strolling
magician
Details on designing fancy buisness cards and websites
How to get started in
strolling
Little details on handling invisble thread and his hookup
But honestly i was
disappointed with the magic part , he taught barely 3 effects that i think every magician knows , i
was hoping for more. And the buisness tips apply mostly if you are performing in very fancy place
with all the rich people around which is rarely the case.
i prefered Oz's lecture on
buisness its much more rich in ideas.
They made it clear he wouldn't teach many tricks why are you complaining about that.

They made it sound like many more than three would be taught, so he has every right to complain. This is a magic site, not a business school. Glad I didn't drop for this, thanks for a very pertinent review
But we are all businesses so you should listen! If more people would look at themselves as a BUSINESS more entertainers would be in fancier places!
Instead they don't take care in their appearances, looks, and routines... They would rather wear crappy clothes, be dorky, and not care about their business and complain about not making enough money!
I find quality always trumps quantity. Some lectures teach 30 tricks you'd never do. The tricks Shimishi taught are gold.
They implied almost nothing about the tricks, they made it very clear the focus was on business. Much like rudy coby and Murray Sawchuck.
Slackering, they state that "some" tricks would be taught to illustrate his points. So he delivered on his promises.
Rayan wrote "....And the business tips apply mostly if you are performing in very fancy place with all the rich people around which is rarely the case...."
Exactly. His point was go perform in fancy places with all the rich people and make money. If no fancy places around....MOVE. Read what was promised in the lecture and you will realize he delivered.
A lot of magicians will KNOW these tricks, but I guarantee they don't perform them like Shimshi. This was my first lecture and I loved it.
Not arguing that the lecture wasn't valuable if you have interested in the business side of magic. It very likely was. However, many if not the majority of people who purchase on this site are hobbyists or part time magicians at best. For that demographic the lecture would be a waste of money. I love his magic, would have been truly interested in learning some of his tricks which are fantastic. The review was very helpful to anyone interested in what illusions were taught, or not taught. Just because some of you find it worth the money, doesn't mean everyone else does.
Well, yes. It would be a waste to buy what was clearly advertised as being a business oriented lecture if you're only an amateur. If was exactly what was promised and you shouldn't hate it just because you aren't interested in the topic.
