After his recent release "Lacuna" which was brilliant, I just had to get this. As the title says,
I'm a bit disappointed that it's not surefire (silly to think that, right?). Even though the trailer
is short and has many cuts, what you see is what you get. It's mostly suggestion. Physiological it's
harder to swallow, but not impossible (if they keep trying) The touching doesn't really do anything
(even though he says it does), but he mentions one other technique that keeps them from swallowing
guaranteed (if they follow your non-chalant "instructions") and also quickly mentions a card amnesia
as "backup" in case the name. OR you could use his Lacuna along with it. Even if they do remember
their own name, you still have them forget another name completely (pro tip from me, he doesn't
mention that on the DVD, I just thought that not everybody likes cards in this context).
Overall, same as last time, he touches on many aspects but brushes over them a bit as if he's
running out of recording time. A few clarifying sentences here and there wouldn't hurt, but the
experienced performer will quickly think of own ways to enhance the effect and to be frank, this is
not a beginner effect.
4 stars mostly because it's not surefire. In the performance one
spectator mumbles "my name...?" as if he's really having a hard time remembering it (or seemingly
even what a name actually is oO) That's simply not the reaction you're going to get everytime. With
that in mind, the trailer is pretty much what it looks like, so decide for yourself.
