I know some routines from Ted Karmilovich and they all have a great thinking behind the effect. With
this expection I bought this lecture. Unfortunately Karmilovich disappointed me with some variations
of old and well known effects without creating something new or more catchy. The card effects were
boring and offer so many possible solutions even for a lay person. Also the effect with the kid
blocks. Q&A is not my cup of tea but this is "my problem". The "best" effect was the dime and penny,
also when I suspect the secret after 2 Minutes.
His performance style was free of any emotion,
so for me it was little bit boring and disappointing for such a great name in Mentalism.
I fully agree with Thorsten... Good, not great.
I expected much more from Ted Karmilovich.
Effects are, indeed, workers, but -in general- not strong, based on well know methods with very little presentation improvement. The reason I rate them as good is because they will mostly fly by for laymen, what is the real goal. But little value added for magicians trying to learn something breakthrough.
I also agree in the lack of enthusiasm (honestly, I had never seen him live before, so I cannot judget whether he "is like this", or it was just the "lecture mood".
I couldnt dissagree more.
I thought the effects was good and the man was werry charismatic!
PSYCHIC 'SNAPS' was just great!
But just one Guys oppinion..
Kind Regards
Dennis Hermansson
you are purchasing a lecture not really a paid performance. Lectures are always performed with less emotion.
Less emotion???? ask Scott Alexander, to name the first amazing lecturer that comes to my mind.
Yeah the best lecturers perform with just as much emotion and drama as for lay folk, because it sells notes, booklets, and full propped routines much better than a passionless demo.
I couldn’t disagree more. I found great value in this material and secretly think it’s one of Penguin’s best released lectures. I use three of the ideas in my act today.
